I love fabric. I have enjoyed sewing for as long as I can remember. I began by 'borrowing' and rebuilding my older sister's clothes. Over the years I have produced countless outfits for my family and friends, from everyday apparel to wedding gowns and intricate pin tuck heirloom nighties.
I took up quilting in the late 90's, starting with wall hangers and progressing to full size quilts. We lived in Victoria BC then and the wait times for custom quilting were far too long so I bought a Nolting Long Arm Quilter in 2003 and started my own business.
In 2009 we packed up and headed back to our roots in sunny Manitoba. I sold my machine to a former client and bought another one as soon as we got settled in our 'new' home in Portage.
I am slowly building up a new clientelle here in Portage. I also get quilts mailed to me by former Victoria clients. They pay the postage this direction and I pay the return postage. I'm not required to charge PST here in Manitoba so that offsets most of their mailing costs.
